I've been asked several times why I don't charge any money for this service. The answer is quite simple: funerals are already expensive enough! I couldn't in good conscience charge a grieving family even more money –– it would feel like taking advantage of them. After all, people are at their most vulnerable after the death of a loved one.
With that in mind, I tried my best to make this service as accessible as possible in every way. WhenSomeoneDies.org will work on any device that can access the internet, without any sort of login required. I do not ask for nor do I save any personal information, and no questionnaire answers are saved to my servers.
I wish this product design approach was used more often. Closed systems (Google Play, the App Store, etc) are dominating the market, which is incredibly stifling to creativity and accessibility.
